As I prepare for my first trip of the summer, and first time to leave Texas in almost two years, I am realizing that my lack of travel has more than just an impact on my wanderlust-y spirit. I have realized how completely unprepared I am for short weekend trips. I mean, when I lived abroad trips were generally at least week, and when they were shorter I shared a bag with a family member. Now, though, this is not the case, and as I began my packing process the only non-duffle bag that doesn't say, "bye I'm leaving for at least a month," is my high school soccer bag...While my pink underarm soccer bag worked great for carting my soccer gear five days a week in high school, I would like to think that I have outgrown it at this point. So, my wish list's number one item has out of necessity become the perfect weekender bag.
This wish list post should have a second title: hopefully going to be apart of my apartment next year. One of my goals for the next year is to really upgrade my room as well as apartment. Now that I'm starting to get older and more addicted to interior trends, I want to start investing in home decor. For the first of many posts, I am featuring perfume trays. I love how elegant they look while helping to maintain organization!
Aww...I wait all year for summer, and especially after living in England for twelve years I soak every second of sunshine that I can! While I don't get to go to the beach this summer (aka my favorite place to be...ever!), I still am hoping to get plenty of outdoor and sunshine time. With wanting to spend every second outside, comes the desire to build a wardrobe to go along with it all. So, I've been lusting over the perfect summer bikinis... I can assure that as the summer jumps into full swing, I will do yet another post about the perfect bikini because it is an ongoing quest! Happy summer!
One of my biggest New Years Resolutions this year was to read more- no matter what I was reading to read more books for myself. This has turned more into reading two pages before falling asleep every night, but hey that's better than nothing? I have been doing okay on this resolution, but definitely need to do better, and I want to revamp with some new books! Let me know if you have any other recommendations.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. With this book having been adapted into a movie that is set to come out in June, I really want to read this book before I see the movie. It is a love story about a young couple who meet in a cancer support group, and tells the story of Hazel and Augustus. I've heard that this is an enchanting read that you cannot put down. Lessons of a Lipstick Queen by Poppy King. A perfect blend between a pleasure read and an important business read. This book tells the story of Poppy and how she made it to be so successful. Not only does she talk about her experience but she also offers advice. I love reads like this! I love seeing how people do things differently, and to learn from what they have done. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling. Honestly, I really just want to read this because I think Mindy Kaling is hilarious, and after a long day of classes and reading textbooks I really need to switch gears. Divergent by Veronica Roth. Another gear switcher, but I have heard that even though this series is a "teen series" that you cannot put these books down. The Divergent series tells the stories of Beatrice and her experience of living in a dystopian world. The society is built off the fact that each citizen is meant to cultivate a particular virtue, which they are shown on appointment day when they . When Beatrice has inconclusive results, she has a very different choice to make. Again another book that has been adopted to the big screen that I need to read before it comes out! I am absolutely dying over Kendra Scott right now! I'm not sure what it is, but I have been bitten by the Kendra Scott bug. I keep finding myself in class looking through her Instagram, which by the way is one of my favorite. I am especially loving the new pink lines she has, and the rings! Everything is just so nice and affordable! So my wish list right now is full of everything Kendra Scott.
Now that I am back at school and attempting to organize myself for the coming semester, I have a lot of time to think about all the school supplies I am lusting over. I have to preface this post by saying that one of my BIGGEST obsessions is school supplies- especially pink and girly school supplies. This might be my most coveted wish list.... 1. Hair ties 2. Kate Spade Boxes 3. Cursive Mug 4. Lilly Pulitzer 5. Kate Spade Clips 6. Kate Spade Notebook 7. Mara Mi Pad 8. Kate Spade Stickie Note Pack
